Following Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address, state Rep. Rylee Linting today said Lansing must focus on responsible spending, supporting students and cutting red tape so workers and small businesses across Michigan can thrive.

Legislation from state Rep. Rylee Linting that will ensure more access to care, remove bureaucratic burdens and help health care professionals across the state grow their careers was overwhelmingly advanced today by the Michigan House.

“I went to the state Capitol to fight for our communities and make sure Downriver gets the attention it deserves,” said Linting, of Grosse Ile Township. “The two projects I am working to restore funding for had previously been budgeted and promised for our area, and there is a clear plan for how dollars will be used. These projects invest in the future of our communities and help make Downriver a better place to live and work.”

The Michigan House this week overwhelmingly advanced a plan from state Rep. Rylee Linting that will help current and aspiring professionals across Downriver and throughout the state.

State Rep. Rylee Linting, of Grosse Ile Township, on Wednesday hailed a signed budget agreement she voted for that addresses local priorities, protects people’s paychecks and ensures government transparency with future budgets.

A $10 million appropriation will enable Wayne County to begin construction on a new bridge on West Road in Trenton. The current bridge is failing, and its condition has already forced a closure of two lanes of traffic – creating bottlenecks and safety concerns for motorists, rail traffic and first responders who need to use the infrastructure to respond to an emergency.

“Stronger sentencing guidelines will protect innocent people and their families and keep more from becoming victims,” Linting said. “Local law enforcement and prosecutors have consistently called for more leeway to curb this dangerous conduct, and it’s time we act on those concerns.”

State Rep. Rylee Linting, of Grosse Ile, is joined by Riverview Fire Department Chief Glenn Owens on Thursday, Sept. 11 at the state Capitol during a special ceremony commemorating the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The ceremony honors first responders and members of the military from Michigan, including those who died in the line of duty in the past year.
