BILL PACKAGE SBs 57 & 58:  SB 57 amends the Public Health Code to prohibit the sale of an object specifically designed for the inhaling of nitrous oxide for recreational purposes. SB 58 amends the Public Health Code to make the sale of an object specifically designed for the inhaling of nitrous oxide for recreational purposes a misdemeanor.

SB 58 Passage:  88-17 with Immediate Effect

Why I voted NO: This change will not stop illicit activity from occurring.

HB 5151:  Designates a portion of highway M-53 in Macomb County as the “Officer Leroy Imus Memorial Highway”.

Passage:  105-0 with Immediate Effect

Why I voted YES: Our law enforcement personnel continually place themselves in danger on behalf of our citizens and state.

HB 4011:  Reduces Penalty for Family Farms in Reporting Certain MIOSHA Violations.

Passage:  93-13 with Immediate Effect

Why I voted YES: Family members of a farmer suffering a serious injury or death would be expected to be in shock and grieving from the incident.
