Rep. Andrea Schroeder, R-Independence Township, announced today that she is undergoing treatment for recurrent cancer.
Rep. Schroeder was originally diagnosed with stomach cancer in August of 2018 and underwent a total gastrectomy in 2019.
“Earlier this year I fought off general infections, but it became apparent to my doctors several weeks ago that the cancer was back and active,” Rep. Schroeder said. “I’m undergoing immunotherapy and we are pleased with the results so far.”
Rep. Schroeder considers this to be a temporary health concern.
“I will continue my work both as your Representative and Majority Whip and keep fighting for your priorities,” she said.
The residents of the 43rd District will continue to be served and can contact Rep. Schroeder at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 517-373-0615.
